Yesterday, we went organic with the Shwood Eyewear post. Today we go slightly retro with this look from Spitfire. When I first saw them, I thought about the man himself... lady flirting, glasses flipping, fresh jordan wearing... Dwayne Wayne (who single handedly made it cool to wear prescription specs). I was hoping that these could flip up... but alas they don't... Still feeling them though. Too bad they are sold out at Oak. Please drop us a comment if you know anywhere else we can find them.

That said, I find that Shwood has tapped into something really amazing with their choice of materials... No two pairs can be exactly the same... which is golden in such an unoriginal world. If you don't look good in this, then chances are you don't look good in anything, and you should just find a secluded place in the middle of the woods somewhere and off yourself. That said, this jacket works for me in several ways. It looks like it would bring a real sharp note to a casual ensemble. I am always a fan of elaborate or colorful lining inside of black or grey jackets. The integrated waistcoat invites you to wear it with the outer jacket open, which plays extremely well... besides, from what I can see here the outer jacket doesn't have buttons anyway, which is a nice touch. Speaking of buttons... the choice of the translucent "hazel" buttons to offset the color of the stitch and the fabric attests to the genius of Vivienne Westwood. [Via Coggles]

I posted about Swear shoes a little while back (See Swear London A/W 2009) . This time Swear has updated their blog with some whistle wetters for the new year, some hors d'oeuvres if you will. Their spring/summer collection launches next month, and so far I like what I see. I love their combinations of colors and textures. Contrast, both subtle and blatant. [Via Swear]
