Take The Oath - Swear S/S 2010 Collection Preview

I posted about Swear shoes a little while back (See Swear London A/W 2009) . This time Swear has updated their blog with some whistle wetters for the new year, some hors d'oeuvres if you will. Their spring/summer collection launches next month, and so far I like what I see. I love their combinations of colors and textures. Contrast, both subtle and blatant. [Via Swear]

Stay Strapped - Cipher Footwear Collection 2010

CIPHER SEDITIONARY

"Libertines on my feet makes my Cipher complete, whether crusin' in a six-cab, or Montero jeep"...

I wonder if Nas would have traded his suede Tim's for some Cipher Libertines back in the Illmatic days. It's funny that as soon as I saw the name of the brand, I thought of the song "The World is Yours", because, ironically, Cipher proclaims itself as "an expression of life in the Brave New World". I may have to agree. I am looking for a change in my Nike dominated sneaker closet, and Cipher may have what I'm looking for. Check out the full post for pics of the Seditionary and Subterranean.

PS...I would like to thank Livia over at Cipher for keeping me in the loop. Maybe she can have them send me a pair of black on black Seditionarys in a size 9.5 to put under my Christmas tree. Subtle I am.

S***R - Swear London Shoes AW 2009

Swear Vinnie

I mean... footwear is my sole... sneakers... shoes... it doesn't matter. I saw a few of these for sale over at Farfetch... and... quite frankly, what makes me want to S***R is that I can't have every single pair of shoes that exists, just in case I decide to give them a one time walk-around. The folks at Swear London are not making it any easier. [Via Swear]

Martin Margiela High Top Mix Up Sneakers Revisited

Usually I am morally opposed to patent leather on my sneakers; However, when it is used sparingly and/or in conjunction with the right array of materials on a well designed sneaker, there is potential for greatness. I spoke about this Martin Margiela sneaker design in a previous post (see Martin Margiela High Top Mix Up Sneakers), but this is a really fresh remix. Leather meets suede meets patent leather meets the genius of Maison Martin Margiela. Via Oki-Ni

Gram 366g Sneaker

I somehow stumbled on a link to these at Revolve while I was doing some research on Gram, a label out of Stockholm. These are long gone, but I have to say that I am kind of feeling them. Laid back in nature, not overstated, but they still pop. Would you rock these? More pics after the jump.

Superga - Grey Hightop Plimsoll

Did you know?... a plimsoll is defined as a type of athletic shoe with a canvas upper and a rubber sole... also known as a sand shoe. I, in my east coast US upbringing was not aware of this. Regardless of what a plimsoll is, to me, grey canvas + clean sneaker architecture + well played stitching = plushness. The grey midsole over the gumsole certifies it. All in all, I think Superga got it right with the Grey Hightop Plimsoll and for 66 bones at My-Wardrobe, I could totally see myself sand shoeing in a beach chair on my back balcony... totally. More pics in the full post.

Lacoste Cassel Sneaker Boot

I spoke on the Lacoste x Mita Missouri 85 Mid in my previous post about sneakers I should have copped. Today I spotted the Lacoste Cassel Sneaker Boot for sale at Flague. To me the lines have somewhat of a Timberland Field Boot play, but more sneaker on the front end (shout out to Gary Vay-ner-chuk). Thanks to Highsnobiety for the lead. See the full post for detailed views, as well as the purple and black colorway.

Quicksilver Capri Sneaker

Shout out to Kineda for the scoop on the Quicksilver Capri sneaker. Quicksilver is mainly a surf shop, so it is interesting to see them getting into sneakers since right now they only carry sandals on their online shop. According to Kineda, these are due out in May for around $65. The flow of the shoe, the materials, and the colorway blend darn well. Besides, 65 bones is tough to beat.

5 Pairs of Sneakers I Should Have Copped

A little while ago I wrote a post entitled Nike SB is Dead - A Sneaker Fiends Reflection. Today I decided that I should make a list of some of the sneakers that I wish I would have purchased. This list is in no particular order.

Pictured below is the Mita Lacoste collaboration Missouri 85 mid. Black, purple, and grey... suede, mesh, and croc...

Christian Peau Washed Leather sneaker Boot

Just saw the Christian Peau Washed Leather sneaker boot at Oki-Ni. I have to say... this may not be for everyone, but most shouldn't find it too hard to style in these. Personally I am kind of feeling them. Christian Peau is known for their premium leather, so no worries on that front. More pics in the full post.

Jim Rickey Sneakers

Scandinavian based brand Jim Rickey got some good things popping off. Started by former Asics Onitsuka Tiger employees, they know a thing or 2 about kicks. All of theirs are handmade to boot (no pun intended). Check out their site for more flavors.

Supra Mushka Skytop

I have to confess that I have been holding out on posting about this sneaker (sorry Supra). Partly, because everyone else is posting about it, but mostly because none of the colorways really knocked my socks off. I kind of liked the tan suede colorway, but the white on white is so pure. Frankly, I am memorized by the cleanliness of these.

...Oh yeah, CCS has them, as well as a few other spots.

Nike Air Max 1 Quickstrike

I noticed these on Kicks Hawaii. I saw them before, but never in this light. I was never a big fan of Air Max, but the detail on this sneaker is kind of the truth. First you have the light blue pen stripe material, in contrast with the greyish toe box. The plush white around the collar of the shoe sets it off and the sole just adds a bit more. All in all, nice use of materials on a classic shoe.
