College Dropout - Franklin & Marshall Cardigans

I dropped out of college and all I got was this grand ol' cardigan.

If you never heard of Franklin & Marshall, it is an Italian clothing company whose origin and branding was inspired by a 1970's vintage American college sweatshirt that the founding duo happened upon in a second hand store in London. Their line consists of college style apparel including cardigans, varsity jackets, logo sweat shirts and tees. More cardigan styles in the full post. [Via Coggles]

Veronique Branquinho - A/W 2009 (Men's)

While flamboyant flashiness may be a mainstay in the repertoire of some, one does not always need 37 or even 15 pieces of flair to express oneself (see Office Space). Many occasions merit a simple, classy approach. I turn to Veronique Branquinho once again for a classic men's collection with just enough flair to keep your assistant manager happy. More pics in the full post.

April 77 Richie Drop Cardigan

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I love when designers take classic pieces and distinguish them with small details. No need to reinvent the wheel, just make them bigger and dip them in chrome. The Richie Drop cardigan comes from April 77. The red and blue specks in the knit is what makes this stand out over what could have otherwise been overlooked as a basic black cardigan. They throw on the music note for good measure, music being a strong part of the brands inspiration. Supposedly, this cardigan is unisex... I can see a guy buying this, only to come home and find his girlfriend wearing nothing except for the cardigan. Fantasies aside, I think this is more than wearable for a guy or girl. Details after the jump. The detail pics are from Attic, and the model pics are from Revolve, both of which have it for sale.

Final Home Asymmetric Zip Sweater Jacket

Seems like we have been seeing quite a few "swackets" this season. I have also been seeing a few asymmetrical pieces as well. This one spotted that I spotted at Opening Ceremony blends the two ideas. Issey Miyake affiliate label Final Home goes out on a limb with this one. Not only is it an asymmetrical swacket, but the front panel features two different materials. See the full story for more views.

RENE GURSKOV Stripe front jacket

Call me jacket crazy...or sweater stupid... but I saw this on Format, and I just had to get a closer look. Where do I begin? Well, you see it... slick closures... amazing detail around the shoulders and pockets. Damn. Farfetch has it if you want it.

Simply Complicated.

This cashmere 'swacket' (sweater + jacket) by Harputs Own makes me tingle.  I'm a California girl through and through so a coat or jacket of any kind really feels unnecessary and annoying, but I recently relocated to the east coast so fighting the chill and being stylish is a priority.

I love the design of this cover-up, but the great part about it is that it can be worn multiple ways...
